Home care in Silver Spring, Maryland
Selectives Home Care provides non-medical home care across Silver Spring in Montgomery County, from the neighborhoods around downtown to the communities out along New Hampshire Avenue and Colesville Road. We help older adults stay independent at home.
Serving Silver Spring and the surrounding area
We support families in Woodside, Seven Oaks, Four Corners, Woodmoor, White Oak, Colesville, Kemp Mill, Forest Glen and the parts of Wheaton and Aspen Hill nearest Silver Spring. This is a diverse, established part of Montgomery County, and companion caregivers here often support people staying connected to a specific congregation, community center or set of neighbors.
Holy Cross Hospital on Forest Glen Road and the Adventist HealthCare White Oak Medical Center are the hospitals most Silver Spring families use, and we can arrange care for people discharged home from either. We welcome inquiries about one-on-one care for people living in senior communities, including Riderwood and Springvale Terrace. Arrangements are confirmed with the resident and community before care starts.
Silver Spring is roughly fifty minutes from our Lutherville office. A care coordinator travels there for the free consultation; where possible, your day-to-day caregiver is matched from the Montgomery County area so their travel to you is short.
Downtown Silver Spring and the neighborhoods along the Metro red line are genuinely walkable, and companion caregivers here often skip the car altogether — a walk to Ellsworth Drive, the farmers market or the library is part of the visit. Further out in Colesville and White Oak the homes are 1950s and 60s ramblers and split-levels on larger lots, where housekeeping, yard-adjacent tasks and driving to Holy Cross or the White Oak medical center are the usual needs. Silver Spring is also one of the most internationally diverse parts of Maryland, and we do our best to match caregivers on language and background.
