Home care in Bowie, Maryland
Selectives Home Care provides non-medical home care throughout Bowie in Prince George’s County, including the neighboring Mitchellville area. We help older adults across Bowie’s communities stay safe and independent at home.
Serving Bowie and the surrounding area
We serve families in Old Town Bowie and across the Belair neighborhoods built from the original Levitt community, as well as Pointer Ridge, Somerset, Saddlebrook, Foxhill, Tulip Grove and the newer Fairwood development. Bowie’s streets are largely single-family homes on generous lots, and help with housekeeping, yard-adjacent tasks and getting to appointments is often where families start.
Luminis Health Doctors Community Medical Center in Lanham and the UM Capital Region Medical Center in Largo are the hospitals most Bowie families use, and we can set up care for people discharged home from either. We welcome inquiries about one-on-one care at senior communities such as Collington in Mitchellville. Arrangements are confirmed with the resident and community before care starts.
Bowie is roughly fifty-five minutes from our Lutherville office. A care coordinator travels there for the free consultation; where possible, your day-to-day caregiver is matched from the Prince George’s County area so their travel to you is short.
Much of Bowie is single-level Levitt-era ranch and rambler housing, which is genuinely good for aging in place — no stairs to the bedroom, wide hallways, a bathroom on the main floor. That often means care here is less about mobility inside the house and more about companionship, meals, housekeeping and driving to appointments, which in Bowie can mean a longer trip to the hospitals in Lanham and Largo. Allen Pond Park and the Bowie Town Center give companion caregivers easy, pleasant outings close to home.
