Our story
Selectives Home Care exists for one reason: to help older adults stay where they are most themselves — at home — for as long as that is safe and possible.
Why we do this
For most people, home is not just a building. It is the kitchen where the coffee lives in the same cupboard it always has, the chair by the window, the neighbors who wave. When age or illness makes daily life harder, the fear is often less about the tasks themselves and more about losing that — being moved somewhere unfamiliar, becoming a burden, giving up the ordinary independence of a normal day.
Good home care can hold that off, often for years. A few hours of the right help — someone to steady the shower, cook a proper meal, keep company, drive to the doctor — is frequently the difference between managing at home and not. Selectives was built to provide exactly that help, to Maryland families, without the cost or the impersonal feel of a large national chain.
What we set out to do
Our founding commitment is simple, and it hasn’t changed: provide quality, affordable home care through teaching, personal care, emotional support and respect.
- Teaching — where a caregiver can help someone regain a skill or do more for themselves, that is the goal, not doing everything for them.
- Personal care — the hands-on help with daily life, done without rushing and without stripping anyone of their dignity.
- Emotional support — company, patience and a genuine relationship, because isolation harms health as surely as a missed meal.
- Respect — for the person’s home, their choices, their history and their pace.
We keep the agency local and deliberately reachable. When you call, you speak to someone in Maryland who can see your family’s file, not a national call center. Care is provided across multiple Maryland counties, including Baltimore City and Baltimore, Montgomery, Howard and Prince George’s counties.
Our leadership
Selectives Home Care is led by three directors. Anna N Randiki serves as CEO.
Where we’re headed
We are focused on doing one thing well: reliable, respectful non-medical home care for Maryland families, at a fair price, with caregivers who stay. Growth, for us, means being able to say yes to more families in the counties we serve without the quality of any single visit slipping.
